Detox Your Life

Many health problems are directly related to toxic exposure to chemicals and heavy metals. These include:

  • Endocrine Disruption: Hormonal problems that affect the thyroid, fertility and menstrual cycle
  • Learning, Behavioural  and Developmental Disorders in Children: Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADD, ADHD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder etc
  • Cancers
  • Birth Defects

It is relatively easy to check for the presence of toxic metals through Hair Mineral Analysis but detecting the presence of chemicals is not so easy. What we do know, is that the more sophisticated our lives become, the greater the chemical load is. Plastics, non-stick cookware, stain-resistant products, chemicals used in household cleaners, pesticides and herbicides used at home, in the garden and in horticulture are unavoidable. Tests for safety levels of chemicals are conducted on single substances, but not on the effect of the hundreds of chemicals families are exposed to, every day. Avoiding and minimising exposing ourselves and our children to this 'chemical cocktail' has become part of our daily work. See Pesticides, Chemicals & ADHDADD not just Bad BehaviourToxic Elements and our section on Chemicals That Affect Us in the A-Z Health Guide.

In this section, we provide some easy to use guides on minimising chemical exposure. The guides are provided by the US based not-for-profit Environmental Working Group (EWG)
